2018 ROSTER OF ATHLETES

NEW MANCHESTER SEASON OPENER

The best athlete of this meet was Zyikeirra Robinson.  This young lady started off the year by competing in the 1600 meter run, the 800 meter run and the 4x400 meter relay.  She scored by placing 2nd in the 800 and helped to propel her 4x400 meter relay to a 2nd place finished.  A great way to open the season.  We look forward to more from this dynamic jr.

MILLER GROVE HOME MEET

During this meet, a young sophomore student athlete stood out for the Lady Angoras.  Deneshia Smith competed in 4 events.  She ran a personal best in the 100 meter dash in her season opener.  She was the team's best performer in both the 100 and 200 meter dash.  She also was a vital member of the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.  What a great way to start her season.  Congratulations!

PATRIOTS EARLY BIRD INVITATION

Congratulations to Tyniah Simmons!  Tyniah was able to show the benefits of working hard this meet.  Tyniah performed very well and recorded personal bests in both the 200 meters and 400 meters.  This three sport athlete has been a great leader on the track and field team and we congratulate you on your best meet so far.

PARKVIEW FAT ALL-COMERS MEET

She has done it again.  Zyikeirra Robinson (aka - Ziggy) has claimed top honors again for her performance during this meet.  This dynamic junior recorded season bests in two individual events.  She also ran the lead-off leg of the 4x400 meter relay.  Her performances placed her within the top 10 performers in the regen for both the 400 and 800 meter runs.  Congratulations Ziggy.  You did a great job!

AUBRAE GUNDERSON INVITATIONAL -

This week we recognize the fabulous distance duo of Freshman Griselda Gonzalez and senior Mangala Karki.  These two young ladies were accountable for a combined 22 points out of the 63 scored as a team.
 
In the 3200 meter run (2 miles), the freshman, Gonzalez, bested the senior, Karki, as they both had their best outing of the season.  They both recorded personal bests and placed 3rd and 4th respectively.
 
The 1600 meter run yielded a similar result.  Only this time it was the senior, Karki, outlasting the freshman, Gonzalez.  Once again, both runners established new personal bests and also placed 3rd and 4th again.
 
What a great day for these two 1st year competitors in track and field.  Congrats to all of the young ladies that competed over the weekend.

DEKALB COUNTY JV CHAMPIONSHIP

The county championship meets marks the beginning of championship season.  This was a great time for freshmen Ale' Shanee Gaitor to have a good ouoting.  The Freshman participated in two events and established new personal records in both.

This students is becoming a great all-around athlete and has been participating in athletics her entire freshmen year.  No telling where her hardwork will take her.  During our most recent meet, it took her to new heights in both the 400 and 800 meter races.  What will we see next?  Great work Ale'Shanee.

WESTLAKE RELAYS

Unique Mason was a stand-out during this meet.  She participated in to individual events as well as two relays.  She is a great athlete that can do most things.  During this meet, she showed power and speed in the long jump.  Showed technical ability in the 100 meter hurdles.  She also showed speed and stamina in participating in the distance medley and 4x800 meter relays.  Scoring in three out of the four events that she participated in, she contributed to 15 pts.
